Post your best strategies
Keep it short and simple. I am level 82, wondering what other players do to level up at the end game.

Just hit level 50. Can't say much.

Am interested in what higher level people say for when I get there, though.

Fight that one legend mine repeatedly from rank 100 to 130, or as high as you feel like going. Then wait for your rank to drop to 100 again. Maybe even pick a second mine to do that to. Gives maybe 4000 exp per run?

I suggest getting a strong damage tower first. These are what I use in order of importance.

DMG:
Eletric Tower
Valcano Tower

SUPP:
Frost Guard
Accursed Bastion
Prime Injector
Horrifying Tower

SPECIALITY:
Engineering Tower
Seismic Slammer
Decetor
Fog Tower
Purifier (Considering switching to Cleansing Tower)

If I don't need a specialty tower, I will run extra damage.

Ex DMG:
Mortar
Tower of the Sun

My spells have been as followers for eternity.

SPELLS
Magma
Curse
Meteor
Fire Rain

SPECIALITY
Silence

I didn't run these towers always. I did use a variety when leveling up, but these have been the tried and true. I took 'Fire Tower' in place of 'Valcano' for enemies that needed to be burned to death for a very long time, but eventually I found that 'Valcano' would out class it.

'Air Guard' seems like it would be a great anti air, but 'Electric Tower' has always been better. I would run the spell 'Tempest' during leveling quite frequently, until I had 'Electric Towers.'

I suggest you get back to Air Guard - for the purposes of air creeps, specifically when pushing to get high 20, the electric tower just doesn't have anywhere near the damage. If you're looking for discussions around what towers are used, there are a couple of threads with informative posts.

In terms of strategy, a couple off the top of my head:
  • Don't bother with the engineering tower against the digging boss. Stun/confuse as soon as he pops up once, then let your towers heal. Just load up damage reducing crew, then your towers won't go.
  • Same strategy against the blimp boss - don't waste tower space against it.
  • For the target lock boss, setup an early stun tower to lock him as he enters the map, then your other towers should still be able to deal with the other creeps without being locked to him.
  • Focus on setting up kill zones - if your DPS is spread across your whole route, it is ineffective. A kill zone usually has some free tower spots for creeps to confuse routes in and/or they have stun towers to lock.
  • In the late game, spells shouldn't be used for damage, but rather utility (as far as is possible).
  • Determine the cyan runes you need, rather than just wasting time going after those that will be of low consequence. Find the runes that will have the biggest impact on your selected towers and look for them on the map - consider paying stars to explore them if the impact will be worth it.

Yes. Electric Tower, not to be confused with Lightning Tower, which is also electrcity.

Unless you are suggesting to do something like Air Guard and True Vision, the tower sucks IMO.

You'll have to lay out a more clear plan. Electric Tower hits ground and air, which already out classes the Air Guard. Why settle for towers that only do 1 thing?

Because of 6x higher dps and 1.5x higher range? Flying units have much higher HP (except bats) so they scale out of reach of hybrid towers much faster than ground units.

I am 84 lvl and dont have electric and sun tower (also lack 2 new lague legendary). Right now Air Guard is the main way to kill flying monsters. My MK2 is top dmger, it has about 68k dmg when fully leveled to rank 7, while airguard has bigger range, enormous HP and has 158k dmg at rank 5 (and has very bad runes, it could go up to 200k dmg with orange and up to 270k with reds). Electric tower is 2 times weaker than MK2 and 6 times weaker than Air Guard. It may be good vs bats (but i am using 30-seconds poison+bees against them anyway).

To level up i am just not playing arenas where you get less than 700 exp for a win. Finish those low-givers once and move on to the better ones. 100+ lvl league mines and 100+ lvl normal mines also aint that bad.

And yeah, hybrid towers mostly is bad idea. Except those underground moles which somethimes dig out and should be killed by ground towers.

On average what hard level do you usually complete and on average what mine level are you at? I ask because I think I just don't have context to understand the game, where you are playing it.

In my experience, the Electric Tower is situational, and is almost entirely outshined by the spray tower specifically in the realm of damage - which is the critical factor in question. In this case I have all 3 (spray, electric & air guard) of these towers fully loaded with cyan runes and under absolutely no circumstance would I think my spray tower (which does significantly more dps then electric) is a viable solution to air.

EDIT: Just saw that you are level 82 which helps me understand where you are coming from. Trust me on this one - dump the electric tower for air and get your air guard going. As a secondary to that start working on your league spray tower and ultimately replace your electric tower with this. These strategies are what you will need to address challenges later in the game than where you are now.

I just don't see how Air Guard is going to be a more viable option than the Electric Tower. I am still pumping out DPS towards air, and once the one wave of air guys are gone (Which my Elec Tower and Fire Rain make short work of) I still have DPS going around for ground units.

Air Guard might have a higer DPS, but it can't hit 100% of the enemies, so does it even matter?


Also Spray Tower will out DPS Electric Tower? I will be switching towards the league towers asap. I thought they were only a color change.

It has much higher DPS against single targets - so much better against Dragon, Prime Blimp, Harpy Queen bosses. Against Jelly Blimps and Harpies it is better in most cases, unless you spam summon them or there is a very good position for Electric Tower, using both is certainly better.

You can check wiki. Spray Tower max - 4242, League Spray Tower - 4666, Electric Tower - 3322. But Electric is cheaper 35 instead of 45 and has higher range 2.3 vs 1.9.

You specifically asked that we keep it short, so I will. Air Guard maxed out does somewhere in the region of 450,000 dps compared to the <80,000 electric tower. When you are in the serious late game, 80,000 damage, will not clear a wave of flying creeps before the next 3 have arrived, flooded your maze and ended your game.

For a little perspective, even with ~450,000 dps the air guard probably takes about 40-60 shots to kill creeps on high legendary level mines. The last time the legendary 1 mine had air, it took curse, meteor stun and lightning stun to only barely just kill the wave with a 9 upgrade air guard. The 9 upgrade spray tower hadn't even moved 1 pixel of the health bar down, by the time the wave fully wrapped around it. We can't see creep HP, but I am guessing that air bosses have close to 1 billion HP at this point as well.

So, when it comes to taking a PvE mine to +20, I will take into consideration the Air Guard. I have also learned quite a few things, like needing to level up some of the League towers such as Mortar and what not. These are great strategies.

As far as PvP mines go, I still find an Electric Tower and a Horrifying Tower will out class the Air Guard tremendously. When you are at such a high level the starting prime really makes the difference, and the Air Gaurd is just too much of an investment all things considered.

I would also like to point out that's it not about getting a perfect on the PvP mines, the strategy I use is just to have at least 1 prime remaining, thus earning the PvP rank reward. Slowing down creeps and delaying the prime counter to 11 so the boss can enter the exit safely (if things don't go as planned) still nets you a reward. It's a completely viable strategy.

But no one has posted their set up yet, like their most DPSing towers.

I have done all the math around towers yestarday, but in my russian guide. To be short:
- Air Guard has 446 damage per prime spent;
- League Mortar has 103;
- Tesla (Electric Tower) has 95.

Electric tower deals dmg to all enemies around, if they have low hp its good to use. But when monster hp is 500,000+, you wount kill any flying enemies with Tesla. Well, noone really forces you to choose from those 2 - pick both and enjoy.
