My people dying little by little
Hi everyone !
I'm new here and start my first run. I follow the tutorial but my citizens keep dying little by little. (When i say little by little is letteral. I can see percentage drop secondes after secondes)
Someone can explain the problem?

My French is terrible, but I assume it is the factory as it has devices in it. That building produces pollution, not a lot, but enough to slowly degrade your citizens health. Once it decays enough the citizens in those buildings start dying.

You can minimize the health loss with an air purifier and hospital, but you're better off unlocking the residential and office buildings.

If you build office and residential away from your polluting buildings (and preferably xethene as well, but that's difficult early on), but close to your HQ, your citizens should stop dying. 1 Office building can provide "work" for 2 residential buildings and your HQ improves the livability score of the residential buildings.

If where your workers work and sleep has bad pollution they will die much faster.

The benefit of Offices and Apartments is they have built in pollution resistance. What I tend to do is to surround 2 air cleaners with offices and apartments so workers live and work in an area that has zero pollution. They do still eventually die but much slower

Ok thanks all.
So, if i understand nicely, option of work AND sleep in factory is just for very early (even not at all).

Dunno, it is technically the only "correct" way to be an industrial slumlord, just not in terms of gameplay...

Salut,

Thanks for the tips. What bothered me, that if you click on the "person died" notification, you cannot locate were it died. Eg. were is a most problematic area.
As much as I can tell, there is no information in game about this whole thing. Encylopedia also don't have any artilce about the health topic. :-( Other strategy games explain such game mechanic in detail. Here, you have to guess big time... :-(

Anyways, thanks for the tips!

Have you checked out the pollution overlay? (Bottom left) This is my go to for planning on pollution, although I will sometimes also click on tiles and see the pollution measure.

Citizens do not have the subscription services that enhances their breathing of the HEALTHY AIR that is Xethane. So they end up losing out on the service called life, as TITAN follows the it's your fault for getting sick adage of health response... Up until the Council realized that it's cheaper and quicker to just build a hospital in order to maximize efficiency.

Your options to help your citizens from dying is basically to build the city layout in such a way that citizens only walk to buildings close to the hospital health range, while also being in areas with low xethane and pollution.

If you convert them into imployees, of course, your citizens suddenly are able to afford the subscription service.
