Can anyone tell me how to run a double-headed train, single rail, no intersections, 2 stops one at each end? I have an engine at each end pointing in opposite directions with 4 cars between them.

Just make sure the stops are on the right-hand-side from the train's perspective when it arrives to the stop (if it says "no path" then you put it on the wrong side, look at the display and arrows when placing it) and give fuel to both locomotives.
Also, don't use any train signals.

In that configuration at least, that's all you need to make it work.
