save game data disspeared ?

i started fernbus simulator today and it was at the *start* of the game 0xp all my unlocked cities disspeared is there a way to fix this / get my progress back ?

The progress of the game is saved in the folder C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Fernbus\Saved. Did you delete or move this folder?

Hi there,

RichP is almost correct, you'll find the Profile.sav[/] in a subfolder of that directory:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Fernbus\Saved\SaveGames

The game doesn't delete your profile on its own. Has someone been playing Fernbus other than you and reset your profile via the Main Menu?

In case you have to redo all progress, best to copy that profile file in that directory as a backup.

Well, there is a way you can unlock your level progress, but you would still have to unlock all of the cities. If that's ok for you do as follows:

• Go to your Steam Library and right-mouse-click on the entry "Fernbus Simulator
  
• Choose Properties and got the "Local Files" tab in the Properties Menu
  
• Choose "Browse Local Files"
  
• The windows browser will open and you will have to continue to the following directory:
  ...\Fernbus\Config
  
• There you will find the "DefaultGame.ini" and create a backup copy of that file just in case
  
• Open the original file with the Note Pad or any other similar text editing program
  
• In the DefaultGame.ini you will find - at the top - the entry ProjectVersion=[your version number]
  
• Now add the word "beta" at the end of the version number:
  ProjectVersion=[your version number] beta
  
• Save the ini-file and start Fernbus Sim
  
• Once you are in the main menu you should see "beta" behind the version number at the bottom left corner of the main menu
  
• Open your profile in the top right corner of the main menu
  
• At the bottom of the profile drop-down menu you should now see a new option, probably called "BETA LEVEL default"
  
• You can left-mouse-click on that option until the states change to "BETA LEVEL All Cities"
  
• Now exit Fernbus Sim and reopen the DefaultGame.ini again and delete "beta" behind the version number, save the file and start Fernbus Sim
  
• You should have access to all Level 4 features, but you will still need to unlock most the cities although they will be shown as unlocked in the route editor menu.

Actually, this beta testing function should also unlock all the cities, but it seems broken at the moment. Stuff always breaks, welcome to the world of game devs ;)

This data loss happened to me also. I just started up the game and all my cities where locked. So I just had to start over again. I know that is no help, but what a pain.
