Game won't run

I just bought and downloaded this game and it won't run. I have Windows 8, any suggestions?

Maybe try uninstalling... wait, quick question, did you buy it on Steam or via a disk? Cuz if it's a disk, I had a similar problem with an older Nancy Drew game and the Yahoo suggestion I used to solve that might help here, but if it's on Steam... I know I couldn't get Shadow at the Water's Edge to run but I can't remember what I did to solve that... Maybe try uninstalling then reinstalling and if there's a publisher that your comp isn't allowing to run, allow it?
Not sure if this will be helpful, but just contact me if you want that Yahoo link! I would paste it now but I'm not sure if you even need it and I kinda have to go find it again first. It's saved in my history so that shouldn't be too hard though.

Try deleting all the local content and then re-installing.

I will say that I bought this game roughly a year and half ago and it still runs fine on my Windows 8.1 laptop. I'm not sure what might be causing the problem; but try enabling compatibility or administrator settings and see if that fixes anything.

I am taking someone else's suggestion and sharing as this worked for me:

"You have to find the .exe file where it is installed and go to its properties and click the compatibility tab and check the box to run in 640x480 mode. the resolution in these older games is too low for modern laptops and PC's" -Emintogames (Trying to give credit where it is due)
