[Q] Modding Nebulae View Distance & Supercapital Capacity
Is there a way to increase the view distance of nebulae via modding? Warlords, like SPG2, comes real close to dethroning Freelancer from it's 14 year reign in terms of immersion and "scenery" but, nebulae in Warlords fades away from too close to be able to achieve that immersion and nice distant views from Freelancer. Performance in Warlords is pretty good so I can afford to bump up the view distance some more, how do I go about doing this for nebulae specifically?

Secondly, how do you modify the number of supercapitals you can build? This one has been asked before but went unanswered so, I'd rather ask here than to necro the old thread. I need an extra dreadnought or two in my fleets to be able to measure up to the AI factions but, I don't want to go conquer planets far out of my current territory just to be able to build one or two additional supercapitals.

I am reasonably sure supercpitals limit is harcoded.

Yea.. the only way to get around supercapital limit is to change the vanilla game's supercap ships to be "cruiser" class so that they don't use the slots.

Not ideal... but it's a hack. ;)

Haha, I guess that's a solution too. But yeah, I'm not that much bothered about the supercapital limit so it's no biggie.

As for nebula view distance, I found some stuff seemingly related to nebulae in the gaspockets folder but I'm not sure if these are for nebulae or the actual gas pockets. I guess I'll just have to tweak some settings and see what happens, the trial-and-error way.

100% those are the "gas pocket" ambient items. :)
