Q&A
1. How will the balance be implemented in the game? (seeing as USMC had access to aerial and armored vehicles while the NVA/Vietcong did not)

2. Will the maps (or some of them) have NVA/Vietcong tunnels? (perhaps to allow for "fast travel" to PoI while USMC can use choppers)

3. How will bombardments work? Will the planes be player-driven or called as a special perk?

4. Are you thinking of implementing a commander system similar to Battlefield 2?

Most of this was already gone over in the PAX video.

idk if u have watched the livestream they had at PAX, but that might be able to solve some of your questions

Coolios.

For those curious and who don't feel like sitting through a 50 minute presentation.

1.
US get:
- 3 pilotable choppers
- Transport: 6 passagers, mobile spawn, 2 M60s, AI co-pilot (insta-spawn for pilot if he gets killed while flying; can also be killed)
- Recon: Pilot + AI Co-Pilot, Minigun, seat in the back (can be used by commander as mobile point to call/mark artillery), flying over enemies automatically marks them for a short period on map
- Attack: Pilot + Gunner, rockets, minigun, auto-cannon, grenade launcher

Vietnam counters:
- RPGs
- SAM
- small arms fire (& HMG)
- passive scouting evasion (if crouched/proned and not shooting)

Vietnam gets:
- different types of traps (that can also block landing areas for choppers)

2.
some maps have tunnels build in their design. NVA/Vietcong squad leaders can place spawn tunnels points which the USMC can destroy (or camp).

USMC have something similar: Huey chopper mobile spawn (up to 3 squads per chopper).

3.
Commanders will have artillery ability (along with some squad leaders?). Planes are ability-based only.

4. yes

US commander abilities:
- F4 Phantom & Napalm
- AC-47 "Spooky" Gunship (60-180 seconds area denial bombardment)
- Air-Burst Artillery
- Rapid Deployment
- Aerial Recon (NPC recon chopper)

Vietnam commander abilities:
- Barrage
- Surface-to-Air Missiles (can shoot down all aerials: player choppers and commander abilities)
- Ho Chi Minh Trail (half spawn time (no penalties for extra deaths))
- Ambush Deployment (spawn on commander)
- Eyes in the Jungle (scout ability without any counter/detection method)


Special mentions:
- ground vehicles: not atm
