it is true, this game is so much better in VR. especially when playing the first time.

playing this game in 2D or watching gamplayvideos will spoil the VR experience for you, and you won't be able to tell how much of a masterpiece this game is in VR.

sony and capcom are doing the right thing, not for you but for VR.
they are trying to create a massmarket for VR.

there will never ever be a massmarket for VR on PC, most people just cant afford it or don't want to have the hassle of PC gaming. and since PC is always on the edge of technologie, it wont get any cheaper nor userfriendly.

anyways, the ps4 pro is much better than what most people have as a gaming rig. just take a look what games are the most played on steam. outdated and old games, because they run on old and outdated machines.

do yourself and the VR industry a favor. get a ps4 or ps4 pro and psvr. if you are truly a VR fan, you know where the good stuff is going to be. not on PC since on PC most games get pirated, so it is the most useless plattform to push VR to a massmarket.

i bet you, this was only the first exclusive for PSVR. more will come.

As far as I'm concerned, my PS4 is for exclusives. I'll do the majority of my gaming on my PC at 144fps with a choice of control scheme that suits me, rather than being shackled to a controller for all genres regardless of suitability.

I can't at all for the life of me imagine trying to play this or any first person game with thumbsticks, and cutting my framerate by more than half would be quite jarring.

Never been fussed with these VR gimmicks and that whole schtick of it being 'the future', get bad enough motion sickness at certain FoV's and other factors. Regular screen suits me fine and is preferable. Don't think I'll be trying that thing out anytime soon.

I prefer exclusive titles such as god of war myself over a game like this. Man I cant wait wait for the next god of war game.

VR is bad. First it does not match with the eyes and brain, because you will get faster eye pain, neck pain and headache.

Your biology lessons "FAIL".

If PS4 was for gaming it would run at 1080p and 60fps alas that's not the case. So no kiddo pc is for gaming since it runs games at 4k 60fps native not upscaled.

FWIW, VR for RE7 is NOT a gimmick. You've never played it in VR, so you wouldn't know and can only assume.

That said, I do agree that the best "2d" version of this game is on PC. Not going argue about that.
