I maintained a stable 60 till the later stages, then my fps dropped to even 30 at some places, i had no idea how to fix it, so just lowered the post-processing. That thing is heavy on the fps and the later stages are filled with particle effects, so you kinda have to do that, to maintain a reasonable fps. I hope the devs will fix this problem.
i5 6400+ RX 470 8GB and I'm having the exact same issue. Lowering to 1024x768 LOW didn't made any difference. I will wait for a patch.
Game plays great for me on Ryzen 7 1700 + Radeon RX 470. Playing at 1080p everything on medium except textures on very high. Getting 55 to 60fps (60fps for the most part). Just passed the seconed puzzle of the illusion, god, person area.
UE4 is not a lightwieght engine and this game looks pretty nice. Maybe them CPUs like the i5 or FX 8350 is hitting a "wall" somewhere with this game. I had a FX 9590 before, that thing was even bottlenecking FPS some games.
Played most of the game at comfortable fps but it dropped to 15-20 fps on the location with trials and locations after that too. GPU utilization is 50-60 % in this locations, so I think this is the issue. But no idea why GPU utilization is so low (the rest of the game loads 100% of GPU)
The problem is after the part you are in the game.
I have an i5 6400 + RX470 nitro+ and the low fps in the part after those two bosses is massive.
Almost the same thing, CPU using 50/60% GPU almost no use (using 50W wich is not even near what it uses when on fullload that is 127W).
Well, I guess I just arrived the place that you mentioned. It's the shore right? Not getting 15 fps though but now it's around 40ish fps and frame times just bacame ♥♥♥♥. Rest was always 60+ till that point.
I'm also having occassional driver/game crashes. 3 hours in and already got 4-5 crashes so far.
Got 390X and I'm on 17.7.2.
Yh i had the same problem
