The more I hear about this game, the more it sounds like rain world (one of my favorite games of all time) so I'm surprised it's not listed as an inspiration. I would recommend checking it out as it has a bunch of similarities with your game: advanced creature ai making up a simulated ecosystem, giant biomechanical machines, sprawling metallic structures being reclaimed by nature, interesting creature designs based off real world biology, advanced shaders, procedural animation, religious undertones etc. I...
