How do you mute voiceovers?
Topic. Setting audio options to the lowest part of the slider doesn't nullify them, and I'd rather just play with subtitles than have to listen to a few mumbles that have little relevance to the actual text

Don't worry about it. The trials are rully voice-acted and the voice acting is great. The characters show huge ranges of emotion simply through the tone of their voices. You can really feel what they're trying to portrait vocally.

I agree it is a bit -- disorienting how the character spout little phrases that are different from the on-screen text; I think the idea was that the voice samples give you an impression of their voice and mood, then you read the text, and hear their voices "in your head".

If every line was fully voiced, the game would take longer and not fit on a PSP UMD maybe? Or maybe it was a purely stylistic choice, like the 'frozen' cutscenes in Bayonetta.

I can read a lot faster than I can listen, and I find the resultant effect a bit strange.

That's a very minor part of the game time wise, and honestly, the voice acting isn't brilliant either when it is fully voiced, which even in class trials.. don't seem to be completely thorough.

It's the same crap they use in FE games. A character is supposedly saying a full sentence, and they get the voice actor to say something inane like "Huh?"

I'm getting pretty sick of hearing "Piece of ♥♥♥♥!" to everything Mondo is really saying in the text. It's horrible and distracts from the actual writing of the game. Which in a story driven game is just bad practice.
