How to Report Bugs

If a crash, include the text from your Error Log. It is located at %AppData%\Roaming\StardewValley\ErrorLogs

Known Issues:

Launch crash if you don't have XNA 4.0 libraries:

Also requires working DirectX 9.0c libraries.

Game not starting: - Try launching directly from local files.
Check to see if the the folder “%APPDATA%/StardewValley” exists. If not, create it manually and try relaunching the game.
Make sure your sound card drivers are installed. Someone encountered this issue because they always used a headset and had never installed their integrated sound card drivers.
Try deleting the Stardew Valley folder in %appdata%

Try deleting the Stardew Valley folder in %appdata% - (Thanks Fragglar!)

Trouble Saving: Be sure to let the following day load fully before quitting.

Missing Save File: Check in the save folder for your character and make sure there's a SaveGameInfo file there. If not, you can just copy and past one from a different character and you should be able to load it up.

The game crashes on save. - Try running as administrator. Sometimes folder permissions can cause saving problems.

The game crashes at Bus Stop/Hidden Forest. - There is a known issue with 4k resolutions. Try lowering it until we can get this issue resolved. (1440p seems fine)

On the tenth day (Wednesday) i get my pet and if i sleep i have a crash without saving. :(

Hm. I haven't had any issues with the overlay/screenshot. I assume you've relaunched the game? Try disabling and reenabling overlay maybe? :o

So far I've only had issue with the screen going white. The first occurance the game then shifted view (after I changed from FS to window), then on the second go it took as I was getting into the first day of the game.
My laptop is an Intel HD graphics lowbie, so if this is to be expected then I'll watch for updates and fixes.

My issue is that there wasn't a hidden ending at the very start where you just close the drawer instead of opening the envelope and get back to work. Would've been funny.
(barely played 5 minutes and I can tell this is going to be my new favorite game, finally a "harvest moon" type game on PC, where you can actually have same sex marriage.)

i had an issue, steam kept timing out trying to install this game. I had to disable cloud sync to get it to install and reenabled after.

I got off the bus and arrived at my farm, but none of the controls functioned except for the mouse movement (but not clicking). I could not move my character using keyboard, mouse, or controller, and no additional dialogue appeared after stopping next to the girl who greeted me.

Not sure if im the only one but you get stuck if entering your farm from the ranch below ( the lady who sells animals).
Is there no way to move a scare crow and/or chest once its been placed down? (Hitting objects with axe lets you pick it back up...)

Same thing is happening to me, had to restart several times because I forgot about that :(. Otherwise the game is running smoothly, no other issues. I do wish we could save using a journal like in harvest moon or just anywhere we want.

One issue I had see: The cursor is jumping in top left corner after a dialogue with a NPC.

You get stuck? Should just need to clear a path up. Or are you loading into a weed or something?

You can pick up chest/scarecrow by hitting it with pickaxe. Chest must be empty to pick up.

No nothing in the way ive tried using every tool i had i can till the soil infront of me i can move in place other then that cant do much i had a full toolbelt just let the time run out.. eventually i was returned home.

I tried clearing again, and it worked. There was a piece of wood that was hidden. Just keep trying and aim a bit off screen/behind the purple leaves on the trees. Hope this helps you :)
