Farm animals - fixed gender?
I've purchased about 6 or 7 animals from Marnie now, and I noticed something that seems a bit odd: regardless of what kind of animal I'm getting (or how many I've gotten before, or whatever), Marnie always finishes the conversation by saying, "Great! I'll deliver ______ to her new home right away."

Does anybody know if it's possible to get a male farm animal? If not, I don't mind that much - it just seems like it wouldn't be that difficult to program the game so that it randomly selects a gender for each new animal.

What would be the point of male animals? Aside from sheep, only females produce the products you'd want.

Unless the product you want is more animals...

It does kind of beg the question: How do your farm animals get pregnant?!?

EDIT: Also, are truffle-finding pigs exclusively female? And Rabbits of any persuasion will, I think, make fur and feet (which is its own line of questioning).

If they have the option to get pregnant lol it's dumb not to have male animals

People impregnate their livestock via artificial insemination all the time.

I can confirm that at least some of the animals can be male, I just bought a rabbit from Marnie and it's a boy. And she referred to it as going to "his" new home, so it seems to be working as intended.

While I do get the whole "male animals can't produce anything" argument, it's worth noting we're talking about a game where you can speak to little forest spirits in the abandoned community center, and sometimes a witch will fly over your farm to improve your stuff. I think the commitment to 100% realism was abandoned a while ago.

(Also, are you guys suggesting that only female sheep, pigs, and rabbits can produce wool, truffles, or rabbit's feet?)
