Chickens not eating hay...
I built a coop, bought chickens, and have tons of hay. I check that, every time i go to to the hay dispenser in the barn, it always has 4, even in morning and at evening, like they never eat from it. And it tells me my chicken "is looking a little thin". What's up with that?

You need to take the hay from the dispenser and place it down in the trough. Also I recommend building a silo if you haven't already

Chickens can't eat from the hay dispenser. Like Crocket says, place the hay in the trough (The wooden flat thing at the top right)

You can also let them out during the day to roam. If you do that they won't eat inside the coop.

I think hay is a waste of money i got more from letting them roam instead of wasting money on hay

You have to fully upgrade your coop to get the auto-feed dispenser. If you haven't already, build a silo so you get hay from using the scythe on the grass on your farm. And let the animals out when it's not raining or winter. Animals will be happier eating grass outside.

If you build a silo, you can cut the grass on your farm for free hay. Just leave a few patches of grass and it'll regrow. It's very viable at lower levels. At endgame, if your farm is animal focused, you need to buy hay. You can't keep up with 20+ animals easily :P

I have kind of a problem with chickens as well. These motherf*ckers keep eating hay even when they roam outside all day. I don't know, bro. Cows work best, I think.

You got to have grass growing in the fenced in area or they eat the hay. I had a problem of to small of a area for chickens and cows. They ended up eating all the grass then started eating hay

If you want to keep your animals happy, you need to let them eat grass outside every day when the weather is nice. And close up the barn/coop at the end of the day. So whenever it's not raining or Winter.
