I guess, if they're not that knowledgeable with it all, then certain hardware issues may only present themselves when putting the system under stress, in this instance, a demanding game.
But still, you'd of thought that after the CPU overheating in a game, further troubleshooting would entail.
Even changing settings to low-low and rolling back Nvidia drivers did not help. Rebooting the PC would always come up quick and flawless. Using a stats monitor app I could see the GPU, CPU, and Mother Board temps slowly dropping through 70C to stabilize around 45C. My cooling fans were clean-ish and the liquid cooler radiator was clean. Last resort I opened the box to make sure the radiator fan was running and it was, BUT the inside of the radiator was totally clogged with micro-fine dust particles. No air was passing through the radiator.
After cleaning the radiator I could play through the Caspian chapter with no more crashes, but the temps were still Very high, around 85C most of the time. NOTE: Metro Exodus is extremely taxing on all major components of your PC. Adequate cooling is required to get the max performance with max settings. That said, its a totally amazing game when it works.
If this user dosen't post his specs don't feed him cause if he doesn't he is a troll or something else.
in some post he claims he has a gtx 1080. so unless he has an i7 7700k or ryzzen 9 3900x his system is going to bottleneck 20%+ no matter what other cpu he has... that card only runs under a 20% bottleneck with a few builds. ( i have a 1080 myself and it use to bottleneck religiously on my i7 7700 non k series which was registered at a 48% bottleneck on userbenchmark and would CTD all the time with random errors and get horrible use of gsync. ) once i upgraded teh cpu to a i7 7700k seriers it was amazingly noticibly different sitting at 4%( since putting it in the i9 series was appaerntly too much for teh 1080 an was giving 40+ as well )
op
you can legit... google. your cpu name and gpu name with the words bottleneck .. or go straigt to pc builds website and test your bottleneck... 1000% you haev a bad cpu gpu pairing very common with prebuilds. if its a labtop.. forget about it.
It's 100% a hardware problem.
Yes he is trolling and baiting.
I run a rig with under min specs except for the GPU which meets the recommended specs.
My cpu is way under the required minimum ....
I run the game on ultra settings on duel monitors and have no problems some crashes during caspian level but thats because i had problems with overlay and cloud sync...all that is sorted out now....
If your CPU is over heating from running this game you have some problem with cooling or your system is so cluttered with junk your OS and hardware just can't keep up and your RAM maxes out ...
I wipe my drives every few months (3 times a year max) i clean install the OS and start a new...
when ever i do this i clean my rig dust on the fans or heat sinks are removed... keeping your rig cool and clean makes a huge difference ( I have had my rig for over 5 years i can run basically any game on max and have sub par hardware compared to most serious gamers)
Its just common care and good practise for most desktop (PC gamers) to clean out dust clutters and any obstructions to fans and heat sinks.... whens the last time you cleaned out your rig?
You may not have had problems like this with other game because these other games may not have used as much resources from your rig to run as Metro exodus...
For a CPU to overheat is a major problem lol you have hardware issues its not the game its your rig ... inspect your rigs cooling system and heat sinks ...dust will block heat transfer. You might not see it at first but shine a light into the cavity and look close you will be in for a treat.
EDIT:--->
To OP some systems allow you to activate a Heat Warning alarm for the CPU in the BIOS i recommend you activate it
my system will beep loudly (from the motherboard) when the CPU is in the danger zone well before a crash occurs its worth the security of knowing when to stop.
