How to solve "Error 53"

Why not just temporarily disable the real time scan on the anti-virus? No need to uninstall.

I am currently using Mcafee (free subscription I swear ;)) and I have to do it with a lot of games on steam.

I know you said no comments but uninstalling AV is overkill

I say that because a lot of AV programs have various "levels" of disabling that some users don't understand so they think they disabled it, but they didn't. And some AV cannot be completely disabled from within options.

Note. DO NOT uninstall your antivirus. It is an overkill. Especially if you're a subscriber like me.

Note to developers. Quite a rude way to solve an issue. Not really polite to your costumers at all. Immature way of dealing this problem is half way on Steam(Valve) but also it's on you. So do try to solve it maturely without a "simple" uninstall something that PROTECTS your PC and then OPTIONALY reinstall.. Really.

Delete this comment if you will. It will just be a proof of how you avoid problems with something as huge(not a trivial matter) as this.

It's a problem of the antivirus software to be honest, so it wouldn't even be Croteam's job to solve it.
Every security suite works differently and it's not really Croteam's job to provide specific instructions for each one of them when it's not even the game's/steam's fault.

They were kind enough to actually look into the issue and provide a working solution. If you have a better one, then write a complete guide for whatever software you've got there instead of complaining.
