0.2.22 "Main Menu Overhaul" + more!
0.2.22 "Main Menu Overhaul"
PATCH NOTES

GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS:
- New Main Menu! Not a lot to say here, because it's IN YOUR FACE immediately upon launching the game. This overhaul is a WORK IN PROGRESS and everything it contains is to better support the game going forwards, make things easier to find, and separate out game modes a bit more directly. Enjoy!
- [Note: There are some known issues with the new menu, particularly in Weapons Customization and possibly in other areas. If you experience any hiccups or issues when editing weapon colors, just know that the ONLY weapon customization that matters right now is your Company Handgun. Other weapons do not currently change their appearance in-game. Coming soon!]
- XP gain rate has been reduced by a small margin.
- The Shotgun and Auto Shotty now have more sounds when overheating.
- The animated cutscene at the end of a Shapeshifter round in which the Monster destroys the Rescue Shuttle's cockpit door has been improved.
- You can now run Shapeshifter with zero bots, by yourself. This sets the game into "Exploration Mode" and will only end the match if you exit or if the Monster is killed. If a player joins after this is set, the match will stay in Exploration mode until the next round. If you are playing solo with bots the game will continue to end as normal.
- Fixed: Spaceman Rank not showing correctly to other players in the pre-game lobby.
- The Settings menu can now be accessed from the pre-game Lobby.
- Main Menu: Updated Reflection Captures to get more accurate reflections around the scene.
- Drop Bridges now have more emissive warning lines on them and an underlying hazardous orange coloration.
- Reviving or respawning Spacemen in Co-op and Survival will now take about half as long to pull out their weapon and be ready to fight.
- Airlocks now have an improved, more hazardous look.
- The How to Play Guide has had most of the LORE removed and is now more direct and helpful for new players. The original LORE and extended Spaceman's Guide to Space will be moved to a new section at a later point in time.
- You can now select game mode with a dropdown when Hosting a Custom Match from the Play Menu.
- When your HUMAN HEALTH is below 30 HP, there is a beeping noise on your suit. When it is below 15 HP, this noise increases in rate.

MONSTER IMPROVEMENTS:
- The Monster Disguise Select menu has received some art improvements and the "OC" icon now reads fully as "ORIGINAL COLOR" to be more clear to the player.
- The "outline colors" in Spectating and Monster vision have changed. They are as follows:
-- Blue outline still indicates a Spaceman is alive. (Only Spectator can see this.)
-- *NEW* Orange outline indicates a Spaceman is the Monster. (Monster and Spectators can see this.)
-- Orange outline also still indicates something is a Monster-related item, such as eggs and acid bombs.
-- *NEW* Purple outline indicates a Spaceman is a murderer.
-- Red outline still indicates a corpse, such as a dead Spaceman.
- Fixed: Monster Form does not trigger when the Monster dies inside the shuttle.
- Fixed: Various issues with Shapeshifters (in solo/co-op modes) not changing back to Monster Form upon death.
- The Monster's body parts are now highlighted in Spectator mode.
- The Monster's Void Beast bubble is now highlighted as part of its body in Spectator mode.
- The Monster now has more monstery mass around his pelvis.
- Poisoning via eating a corpse with the Antibodies Perk no longer completely removes the Monster's Passive Health Regeneration. Instead, it now reduces the Passive Healing Amount to 25% for the duration of the Poisoning.
- The Monster has a new animation on the Monster Customization Menu.

CUSTOMIZATION:
- Customization has now been sectioned out into Spaceman, Monster, and Weapons, with Weapons receiving its own menu section now.
- All Early Access owners now have access to the Survivor Set; suit, helmet, and visor.
- The Feminine Body type has been renamed to ♥♥♥♥♥, to be more accurate but also more ambiguous.
- You can now select suits in the Customization menu, if you have any available.
- Suits will now be cloned by the Monster Shapeshift for expert mimickry.
- The Default Visor is now called Standard, along with all the other starting items.
- Many of the materials for weapons and suits have been improved.
- Characters should no longer float when their height is adjusted. Height scaling now works by properly scaling from the feet upwards.
- Many issues with body types have been corrected, particularly with strange pelvic angles and other weirdness. As a result, some of the body types are a bit less extreme, but still give the same general result.
- The Default Helmet image when selecting helmets has been updated to match the new default helmet style.
- The Suit button in the Spaceman Customization screen now appears as the updated default suit style.

ITEM IMPROVEMENTS:
- There is now reticle/crosshair bloom on the Handgun, LMG, and Assault Rifle, which represent the current bullet spread on the weapon as it's being held and fired.
- The LMG now overheats about 25% faster.
- In Story Missions and Survival, the regular Shotgun now has tighter grouping and can fire roughly 5 shots before overheating. For balance reasons, the Shotgun is unchanged in Shapeshifter, which still has wider grouping and 2 shots before overheat.
- The Railgun's (third person) laser beam now turns off a bit quicker upon being dropped or when switching weapons.
- Fixed: Item HUD tooltips (instructions on how to weld or heal yourself with a syringe) now disappear while in Monster Form to prevent confusion with the Monster's attack controls.
- There is now a HUD animation on some of the text and borders in the bottom right when switching items.
- The LMG has transitioned out of "WORK IN PROGRESS" stage and the name has been changed to simply "LMG"
- The LMG now has a proper HUD icon.
- The Assault Rifle's HUD icon has been darkened some to bring it in line with other item icons.
- The Noise Grenade now has a unique HUD icon to better differentiate it from the Stun Grenade.
- The Company Handgun now has some new overheat sound effects.
- The Company Assault Rifle now has some new overheat sound effects.
- The Company LMG now has some new overheat sound effects.
- Reduced the interaction box size on the Oxygen Tank Gear Item pickup, which was much larger than it should have been and could prevent players from picking up items near to it.
- Assault Rifle fire rate increased to 0.12 between shots, up from 0.10 between shots.
- The LMG now does 8 damage per shot to Crumerian Drones, up from 5.
- Improved AR overheat animations.
- All Lootable Items now have an improved glowing effect.
- Lootable GEAR Items now glow Yellow. (All other items are still Green.)

OBJECTIVE IMPROVEMENTS:
- The Research Sample received some fixes to its visual state for late-joining players.

MAPS:
- New Survival Map: "Cheese-Laden Hypercube" based on "The Experiment" Shapeshifter map.
- Multiple maps have had areas removed or made smaller in order to keep players from getting lost or spending too much time out of the main play areas, and to help take out some of the least-traveled and uninteresting portions of the maps.
- Abduction: The map boundaries have been decreased all around and the fence has been brought in. The map is now about 10% smaller, to eliminate some of the more excessive field areas.
- Duress: Station 7A (across from Station 7) has been removed entirely. The Observation Room (a large blank room south of the Annex) has been removed. Multiple tram-way walkways have been extended to help accomodate travel and make them harder to fall off of in some circumstances.
- Hypertrain: The first and last car in the train have been shrunk by about 50% in length.
- Space Bar: All of the parking lot borders have been moved in about 25% to 50%.
- Recruitment: Two staircases have been added to the Outdoor Oxygen Testing Course to make travel to the upper plateau a bit easier for players.
- Spaceburbia: The entire area behind Orange's house has been removed, and the connection between Green and Orange's backyards has been removed.
- Tidal Lock: The center floor has had most of its buildings moved closer to the edge, and the back-alleys have been closed off to concentrate players together more frequently. At least 3 more Drop-Bridges have been added to the gap for easier travel.
- Spaceburbia: Pink house has received some large improvements.
- Gardens: There is now more grass all over the... grass.
- Spaceman Tutorial: Fixed coloration issues of the spacemen at the end of the tutorial
- Lobby: The 6th lobby spaceman no longer patty cakes with himself if a 7th spaceman is not present.
- Lobby: Moved Security Bot closer to the other Spacemen on the benches.
- Architects: Added some walls around the more open exterior areas of the map.
- Echo: Moved a spawn point over that was partially inside the forklift in Yellow Hall.
- Space Bar has received some major visual improvements in various areas.
- Snowswept has been removed from the map pool due to not being up the sufficient quality for a 1.0 release. It may be re-added after a potential rework but as of right now it has been removed from the game.
- Kema has been removed from the map pool due to not being up the sufficient quality for a 1.0 release. It is scheduled to be added back in after a comprehensive rework.
- Lobby Map Selection Buttons now properly support longer map names.

- Potential fix for common issue where some Spacemen would sometimes not hear other Spacemen in their proximity despite the microphone icon being present.
- Improved wording on Play Survival menu to be more specific about the "bonuses" that Spacemen can earn during a Survival round.
- Potential fix for the alleged "Noise Grenade crash"
- Fixed: Last Man Standing triggers at the end of the Spaceman Tutorial
- Fixed: Research Samples are still triggering the suit's geiger counter after they are sealed.
- Fixed: Pressing any of the weapon buttons in the Weapon Customization menu in the lobby takes you to the Monster screen instead of that weapon's customization panel.

- Fixed: Transmitters can sometimes get stuck as "Halted" if the power is out for too long.

- The "Find Match" button on each game mode's menu now says "Join a Game" and will take you to the server browser as well.
