Plus adding co-op/multiplayer isn't an easy task especially if the game was singleplayer from the start. You have any idea how many years it took modders to add co-op to skyrim? They weren't even the devs for the game...
I would honestly buy a copy for each of my buddies and play the sh*t out of the game
remote play is not the solution - with proper online you dont have to split/screen the view which is would be much more comfortable - not to mention remote play has many issues and flaws
