1. Yes plug and play, simple and easy. The keyboard also works well and I'm using my arcade stick to play =D.
2. Well I've gone through the first world and it had 20 levels plus a boss, world two also seems to have 20 and a boss. Double that because you can play dark world versions where they levels are way harder. There seems to be eight worlds, not counting the dark versions.
There is also a level editor and loads of customs maps to play.
3. The levels on world one were short and had no checkpoints. I feel like there won't be any going forward, I can't say for sure though.
4. So far I've loved my experience and I have three friends who rave about it, so no.
2. There are 6 chapters that consist of 20 levels each with a boss. If you A+ a level you unlock an additional level that is remixed to make it much more difficult. There are also about 5 secret stages to find per chapter and a special -1 level. There are also hard to get bandages in some levels. The more you get the more characters you unlock which have unique capabilities (super meat boy will always be the quickest though)
3. Levels almost never take more than a minute or two to complete. When you die you instantly respawn at the beginning so you're never more than a minute away from where you died. Absolutely no waiting is required between deaths.
4. Personally i have nothing bad to say about the game. Probably has the best controls out of any platformer ever made (imho) and has more content than most AAA games out today. Music is also incredible.
It's worth noting that most levels are successfully completed in less than 30 seconds...but you might take an eternity trying to successfully complete it in the first place. :)
2. at least 240 plus a bunch of surprises. doubtful you'll ever see all 240 levels because the game's f**king hard.
3. every level is a checkpoint. you have to finish each in one shot, but after you die you insta-respawn so try, try again (i.e. try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try again).
4. yes, the game ends.
When you beat a level with an A+ it unlocks a "dark world" version of that level thats much harder. I would reccomend trying to get an A+ on every level after completeing the chapter first. Or you can just beat the game, return to the earlier chapters and do it that way. The dark world levels are my favorite part of the game personally. Most people consider that the "true" way of completeing super meat boy.
