Jim Sterling's video
Seeming as it is inevitable, Jim did a video on the game.

You may find it here.

One thing to note is that he got pretty bad performance on his rig, which was capping him at 15 FPS.
I suspect VSync was on and he wasn't able to get >30 to <60 FPS.

Did a test: Average CPU load is 13.74% total, GPU 99.4%. ~27FPS on the frame I was rendering with effects, which you may see semi-spoiler free here[i.imgur.com].

Is the shock Daniel that he actually had good things to say about this game? Eh based off what I saw of it in the video he was right to praise this game.

Interesting that his perf sucked. Atm with a i7-3820 and GTX 980Ti I never had any issues

I'm shocked that Jim did a video on my game at all, that he liked it, that the performance was horrible, and that he liked it even though the performance was horrible.

Needless to say, I will be working on performance. One of the downsides of making a game by yourself is you don't really have access to a bunch of different computers to test and profile on.

I think the perf is good for most people, but when it's not, it's really bad. And when that person happens to be a prominent youtuber...

I'd really like to give this a shot. TBH even just the video itself was unwatchable at 15 FPS, but I took at look at "Dragnix"'s video found in the reviews, and it looks really interesting. I recall seeing this when it was first announced; glad it see it's finally out! :tbphappy:

I'm thinking the main performance sapper is the shaders used.

Will edit this post after I've tried some things here to lower them.
Edit: Failed to really edit the shaders, Dan's using XNA 3.1 which uses VS 2008, and I don't feel like installing all of that just to reduce shaders here.

So its not ment to run at 15 fps? Good.

I bought the game after 5 minutes of Jim's video ..... and it's running at 120fps (my monitor's refresh rate) here. Specs if needed:

W10 x64
4670k
16GB RAM
980ti

Jim replied to me and it's due to using FRAPs, using another capture software he was able to get 60fps.

Fraps haven't been updated in 3 years and does give these oddities with other titles as well so it's nothing new for fraps being reason to ♥♥♥♥ up things. However people keep using it because that's what everyone always say to use for video recording and it's noob proofed with minimalistic settings. And it does still work most of the time, so people won't be looking out for alternatives, even people doing game recording for their job.

If you just need to record stuff with minimal effort and impact use shadowplay. If you need lossless stuff with wide amount of settings and support use dxtory or just use some free alternatives like OBS or MSI afterburner.

Even bandicam is better simply because it's being updated and supported, last update being week ago.
