Thank you for saving my money bro!
What should I do next? Tell me! TELL ME!
I like going back and playing old games. If Denuvo ever goes out of business and closes down their servers, the game won't launch.
Have fun with your time-limited game.
Look at games that had GFWL, they still work to this very day.
If denuvo at any point goes down they are probably going to remove it from their games so that you can still play them.
I do preorder games rarely but only from GOG, at least i own the games i buy from there.
But who is going to do that if the development company get shut down by a greedy publisher that has no profit motive to pay someone to remove the DRM?
ask westwood studio why C&C is still playable on origin perhaps? maybe 2K Austria will have answer why borderlands the pre-sequel is still working. both are developer who get shutdown by GREEDY publisher company. exactly as you describe.
that's not gonna happen. Josh is right and i'm with him on this one.
So you never buy any games ever on full price?
Nowadays you don't own most games - Steam only sells a license too which they can rewoke at any time.
Yes, because as PC gamers... we've NEVER seen such a service shut down before.
We've never seen anything stop working and had to find other ways to play a game before.
It's not like publishers have never released fixes for such issues. Or users have found ways around them.
Yep. You are completely right. We have a total zero chance of ever playing these games once this service goes offline whenever that might be.
So, I'm gonna do what you said simply because of the what if, when it, maybe, possibly, should I... shouldn't I may not could be will won't happen?
Right?
Funny you mention Origin... Darkspore is no longer playable on it.
yeah i know i don't own most of my games that i bought from Steam most games use Steam DRM, thats why i prefer GOG when i can get the same game from there.
I preordered Shadow Warrior 2 and bought Telltales Batman at launch from GOG because i trust them to deliver and want to support consumer friendly store and devs who support it.
As for DRM and steam? Steam aint going out of buisness anytime in my liftime, so im alright with not "owning" their games per say. Now the games that req me to log on to other sites outside of steam, "UBISOFT!", i avoid like the plague.
