allow toggling console with the tilde key com_allowConsole
Not sure where to put it though.
and some stuff::
win_consoleVisibility set on command line to allow multiple instances at the same time win_viewlog 0 = hidden, 1 = normal, 2 = minimized win_floatExceptions enable output to debugger win_allowMultipleInstances enable floating point exceptions
Then again, it can be disabled completly by default ..

It really should be in launch options +com_allowconsole 1 But it can be disabled. No idea if it help putting it in default.cfg either.

i dont want a virus, and according to Norton and Windows Defender, both are risky to download

Ever heard of false positives? Your noggin' will serve you better than any anti-virus program. Not that they're bad to have.

It's a false positive. CE hooks on and modifies the memory of other apps. For a heuristic scanner that is going to "look" shady as ♥♥♥♥, but that's how it works. Anything that works that way is going to get flagged as questionable.

Bumping this thread. Anyone found anything or how to force it with CE?

If you are using a debugger (CE) you could trace / step (or even BP) and see if it touches the console stuff at all.
It could be disabled but i doubt it, seeing how much garbage the exe containes..

@Silenced You're using norton and you're worried about getting viruses? Norton is one of the worst viruses you can get. Well that and Mcafee. Go avast, avg, or kaspersky.

Did AVG improve? For awhile there they were pretty terrible.

AVG is pretty good, but i use avast. I'd say avast is probably the best one you can get.

It's a False positive because the debugger has a foot print like a virus due to the nature of the memory access.
