Hello everyone,

We've been playing with the UI layout quite a bit in Dawn of Man and wanted to move some of those changes over to Planetbase.

Additionally, we wanted to address some other common requests, like production limits for each bot type, easier access to alerts and clearer display of resources.

Mac computers are deprecating 32 bit apps soon, and we also wanted to address that.

Feature list

* Bioplastic, Metal and Semiconductor resource counts now reflect the free amounts by default (not the total amounts).

* New improved UI layout
  • Main menu is now at the center bottom of the screen
  • General panel and resources panel are now always visible
  • Context menu is displayed on top of selection panel
  • Removed build menu, build external and build internal are now top level menus
  • Moved tutorial instructions to the upper part of the screen

* Added production limits for the different types of bots

* Streamlined charts window
  • Only important charts are shown by default
  • There is a "more" button that shows all charts

* Added keyboard shortcuts for alert modes

* MAC build is now 64 bit, as 32 bit apps are going to be deprecated soon

* Fixed a bug that could make the game display a black screen on Windows.

Hi, any chance that you'll look at incorporating the new SteamPlay system to allow linux users to play the game? It runs almost flawlessly on my system - the only thing is that some dialog boxes (such as the tutorial) do not display any text. Hopefully this is an easy fix. Please let us linux users know if we can be of any assistance!

You should add a creative mode were you can spawn in colonist, bots and resource's like kingdoms and castles i really like how they did there creative i would like to see more like how they made it in my opinion. Love the game and i am looking forward for the updates to come and dawn of man, Keep up the good work:steamhappy:

My favorite game for the past year. Great to see updates. With 250+ hours played, I want more difficult levels. It would make sense to have all the huds and stats and notifications ect on the top, not 2 on top and 1 below. In fact I preferred the HUD up top. Cant wait for Dawn of Man on OSX!

I've had the game for a long time, I've been recovering for a few days,
I have a few things I miss:
1) Why the meteorites disappear why not undermine them?...for sale
2) Why when there is a cut to have only once the sound and not every 10 seconds? N once enough I think.
3) Why not provide colors or symbols on the buildings for the recognizers?
4) It would be nice to have ships crush and take the cargo by sending a vehicle.
5) It would be nice to have a better detail of the place on the planets, the location on the planet according to the ores and the percentage of meteorites.

Have the game now terra forming options so you can build the structures everythere you want.

Hello, My name is Xenogears, and I play the console port of Planetbase.
It's a nice game, and I like the concept behind it.
And I would like to offer my thoughts on making it a better game.

Now I don't think the limited setup, and flat land at current is bad, but there's missed opportunity with elevated terrain.
Not necessary, but would be nice to see.

I would also recommend having the option of shorter hallway lengths between structures, as I feel they are way too long, and really inconvenient. (Especially for material carriers)

I also wish to see the location requirements shortend, since buildings have to be placed way to far away from other structures, and it can make building a self sufficient base difficult or impossible for missteps.

I do have more ideas and feedback, but I will stop here.
I really would like to see this game evolve, but at current it's enjoyment is limited, and at points the game becomes insanely easy, a free build limitless mode would be great as well.

Just some food for thought.

I would love to see the large or massive building types for the dorm, med bays, water tower, cabins, oxygen generators, etc. I would REALLY appreciate a double air lock or revolving door style airlock; or at the very least make the area needed for an airlock smaller to place more of them.

The menu's are all missing the most important parts, even if you changed them you made the game basically unplayable on the linux machine the traders don't show counts the building don't show how much they need or where they are in construction, everything is a mess, they look worse then beta atm. you guys are nuts, if you don't think we need to know that! pics if you want them the award menus have no discripition in them, the trader don't say what they are, you just get empty sreens with pic you can't see cash flow and so on

To the above poster you can place three air locks on a smalle o2 gen and still have a contection to teh next building Your desire fore massive bulding can probably not be done if you take in teh o2 generator to account you only have so much empty space before they cant support you. big massive building would be a waste of that! if you check how many blocks one of those buiding uses that you must buy., you'd take forever to build a building much bigger to boot..not to mention how many blocks they'd have in them.

if linux users shouldn't post here tell steam it dumped me here, when I logged out of the game.

So glad to see your new game. Really like Planetbase. I know you gys hear this a lot, but if you would like some media covarage for your new game, you know what to do. A buy on the release day for me!

I really really really liked it when the main menu was at the top of the screen. I do not feel as though placing it at the bottom of the screen improves it at all. Maybe offer a choice of whether the user wants it on the top or bottom.
