Yeah, Erina 200% if often cited as a good alternative to do BEX True Boss Rush.
If you ask me I think a 100% file on BEX is still better, though.
Better if you want more of a challenge. But for people that just want the achievement, 200% makes it a lot easier.
Hmm I dont know, a full 100% BEX file has many things Erina 200% doesnt.
No Easter Eggs, so Rainbow shot is basically useless damage-wise (I think it should still heal since its based on MAX HP I believe)
No Bunny Memories or Fairy Flute. And those two are a massive help on True Boss Rush- there is no way I could have ever beaten BEX TBR without Fairy Flute. I think it activated 3 times during the whole thing!
No Super Quick Charge Ribbon. I personally did TBR before beating the SP Bosses, but this is a possible upgrade as well you could use.
So you also have to get Amulets? If so, thats also another con. No 5 Amulets, also yeah, you cant start with any buffs if you use them...
So it does seem like there are some reasons to do TBR on a BEX 100% file than with Erina 200%.
Of course, Erina 200% is faster than just completing BEX but... if you already have a 100% or near 100% BEX file (Which you probably should for achievements) I think its way better to just use that one.
Since i did true boss last night with my just started erina 200% file let me just correct you a bit.
You DO get the fairy flute and I believe the bunny memories, though I think my bunny memories glitched cause I swear I used it once but then it was locked out or something. The fairy flute worked the whole time as it proc'd multiple times throughout the boss rush. As for the Amulet I only had three charges.
One last question. I'm aware that the Erina boss rush is all the DLC bosses, but what's below it? Is that from the artbook dlc, cause I haven't purchased that.
Artbook has nothing to do with it; althought it does have its own set of boss rushes:
Cicini, Syaro, Rita, and UPRPRC girl.
All of them are the exact same as True Boss Rush, but with the character you choose. Its also sadly looked to Normal difficulty + Ribbon is underpowered, which kind of kills their appeal but oh well...
UPRPRC girl is a pacifist-esque boss rush and its probably the most interesting and unique out of all of these.
Also Erina Boss Rush starts with Keke, then the old SP bosses follow (Cocoa, Ribbon and Ashuri), and only AFTER that it continues with Halloween Cats + Order DLC bosses.
I think it ends early if you dont have the DLCs?
Also Halloween Cats are in a very odd position since they are by far the weakest bosses out of all of them. Its easy to recover here.
200% starts with everything other than eggs, consumables, 5 amulet charges, and whatever that Ribbon thing is. 200% also starts you with ALL badges equipped, and 64 of every power up except pack up (which is 25).
Granted, you probably don't want all of the badges equipped, but at the very least you can have more equipped than normal. But I think 64 attack ups alone is reason enough to do TBR on 200%, if all you care about is clearing it.
But yeah, it certainly makes it a good option if its 64 ATK up potions.
The lack of Easter Eggs and missing 2 potential amulets still kinda hurts though.
Super Quick Ribbon Charge is a decent upgrade, its nice, but not a super huge game-changer by any means. Just as the name implies, Ribbon charges about twice her usual speed, and also you can get away with disabling Quick Barrette for a free boss level downgrade, but thats about it.
I dont know why someone would ever want ALL the badges though. That actually sound like a bad idea. 99 PP cap is more than enough if you ask me; most of the time I dont even use all of the points.
Atk/Def. Def/Atk. Swap Badges.
HP/MP, MP/HP Swap Badges.
Those four come time mind because if my math is right, Erina will actually lose out or no benefits will be gain if two similar Swap Badges are activated at the same time.
And while it works, Auto-Trigger is also a bad badge. Probably the very worst in the game.
It should cost half of the BP it is currently asking for, then it may actually be viable for players who would like to be super safe.
Its not just bad in functionality but also in concept.
I believe its a bad badge to use simply because as a player you should learn how to use the Amulet and not rely on a clutch badge to do it for you. Its a trap that will hinder your progress. Kinda like using an autobomb patch on a touhou game... but thats kind of beside the point.
Hex Cancel is also something I dont recommend on Boss Rushes because, IIRC, it only activates if you got hit 6 times during the SAME round. Something thats hardly ever going to happen (on higher difficulties at least), except maybe for the longer fights such as Rumi and Irisu, but even then I dont think its use is justified at all...Also Miriam will have it.
There are other badges I dont recommend but I already talked about them, and at that point its mostly up to your playstyle. THESE examples however, I think most would agree with it.
