Already own, getting orange box. Can i gift?

As the title suggests, I am getting the orange box and i already own portal 1 (and 2) and i was wondering if i am able to gift my orange box copy to a friend or is it stuck to the disc?

I've owned The Orange Box on Xbox but not on Steam. But can you describe more of what you're saying? Your description is very vague.

I think you get one key to activate on steam, then it's no difference in buying orange box on steam or retail.
