OC7 Crashing

OC7 keeps crashing/not responding on my computer. Resources/Specs are not the issue obviously because it ramps up my Ryzen 9 3900x to 100% usage even though it's the only thing open.

This is usually due to using the blur brush.

In the reviews, I saw that someone was able to bypass it with a registry fix. Does anyone know/have a guide for this? Running a google search, there isn't much information on this.

If you could help me out with this, then that would be great. Thanks!

I have the exact issue as well. No other programs running, and OC7 works perfectly, until I use the blur brush. Its good to know I'm not the only one with this issue! If anyone could help us out, that'd be awesome! Thanks!

Since I should have updated everyone awhile back, I still have not found a solution

I, instead, went for a refund on the exact same day that I created this post and I am now using Krita and SAI

I'll consider rebuying OC7 when a solution is found or an update fixes that issue

I switch to krita a while back because of the same issue. This started to happen after I change my Cpu for Ryzen. Its a shame i loved OC7 but now im not comming back.

You said you changed your CPU to a Ryzen

What did you have previously?

Intel or another amd CPU?

If it was Intel, would it be possible that maybe a library or some bit in the code that the blur brush is using would be causing a hangup when the user is using an AMD CPU?

If you had another amd previously then could it just be the ryzen line?

im having the same exact problem too and i just got the px pen 22 pro so idk what the heck i should do i got it yesterday and im already having issues and i was in the middle of drawing something that took HOURS idk if this is just a bug that is normal and the creators of whatever need to fix but ill keep trying to fix it and im new to pretty much everything so idk if i just pressed the wrong button and im freaking out for no reason but i might just save it and watch anime then check it out tommorow cause its already 1 am but yeye

I moved over to Krita and Paint Sai

The crashing is a bug within their program that they need to fix. I had found someone who said they were able to fix it with a regedit fix, but I have no idea where to find that guide and gave up fairly quickly.

I think OC6 doesn't have this bug, idk

Open canvas 7 is terrible. I ve bought it and have bugs every day, now it is not possible to save anymore... I m mailing them every day, we should ask for a refund all together, there are better program with the timelapse function too such as clip studio
