What is up?

So, I've seem a lot of people talking about how their game won't start. How about this : My game starts and goes to the main menu, then it takes loads the continue, load, etc... options and up until then it works fine. But the minute I click on any option the game freezes,sort of. I can move my mouse and the music keeps playing correctly but it won't do anything. When I task manager it it says that the game is not responding. Now has anyone here have the same problem or is there a fix for it?
