The graphics look just fine to me maxed-out with v-sync enabled in the nVidia control panel, but thanks anyways.

I didn't get any penality, it differs from system to system but in general SweetFX is extremly minimal performance impact

This broke the game for me.
I was first unable to start it due to an d3dx9 error, changing to compatibility mode changed nothing and then changing to run as administrator broke the game causing it to always produce an steam load error 5:0000065434.

Now redownloading the game.

I found the problem after a few hours.
The problem was the Mumble overlay, completely forgot about that...
God damn mumble...
