''Reshade'' Get better FPS and Visibility - Credits for Reshade go to Ferrius
Hey Community, i hear and read so many times from new players, they have FPS issues or can not see enemy Units that good.
So i decide to write this one quick. Sorry for my bad English btw :)
Before i installed Reshade, i had big trouble with unsharp edges and i had to turn on the in-game sharpening that cause to drop a lot of my FPS

I get around 80-90 FPS and never drop under 60 FPS with this Spec and Reshade
Win10 64bit
i7-6700 3,4GHz
GTX970 4gb
On SSD Installed
Game is at 1080p

Reshade Link: http://www.ferrius.eu/reshade/
After download and install Reshade with the instructions on the Website, start the Game.
I will write down the '' Minimum Required Graphic Settings '' to play on Competetive Squad Servers. If you dont want to play on this Competetive Servers change this setting to what ever you want or your Spec can handle.

This are the Settings that i use:
1080p
Borderless
Vsync : Off
Gamma : 2.20 (Comp. Server Max 2.20)
Anti-Aliasing : Off
Screen Sharpening : 0.50
Super Sampling : Off
Effects : High
Shadows : Medium
View Distance : High
Foliage : Medium (Comp. Server Min. Req is on Medium)
Motion Blur : Off
Bloom : Off
Ambient Occlusion : Off
Eye Adaptation : On
Lens Flare : Off
Full Texture Loading: Off

AA and Super Sampling cause for me the FPS drop but it help to spot enemys better. I turn it off anyway cause we have Reshade to get that extra edge without much FPS drop

Hit Shift+F2 to open Reshade when you are in game and on a empty Server or Weapon Test Map.
Change things to your liking and play with it a bit so you get familiar.
What help me to spot enemys better was 3 things in Reshade.
• Luma Sharpen
• Clarity
•Technicolor 2

Play with the Sliders of each setting to change it how you feel confortable with
There is a Option calld Adaptive Sharpen, but after testing, it turn out that Luma Sharpen help a bit more in terms of FPS and is pretty much the same result as Adaptive Sharpen.

If you have Qustions let me know it and i'm happy to help out.

I followed the instructions but shader doesn't come up in game. I chose the squad.exe file for chosen game. After install I have the opengl32.dll file, opengl32 config file, reshade-shaders folder and ferriusreshade folder all in my game folder but it doesn't come up in game. I am going to the firing range to try it. Should it show up in there?

I still dont understand how this is such a necasary thing. I have not used it, I am curious. Is it a problem with the Unreal Engine?

Reshade is a great piece of software.

What does it do that the engine cannot? I am curious. I have to read up on it.

for me the in game sharpening and AA eat a lot of resource and drop my fps. i just turn it off in game and make the sharpening over reshade.

install video .. it is a old version but it is still the same

Is this safe to use? I don't want to be banned because it might think I'm editing the files or something (thinking about GTA V).

EDIT

I know the website states it is okay, I'm just wondering if the Devs said it is okay.

never had any issue or know any kind of problems by others who use it
davidself1001 Nov 19, 2017 @ 4:22pm
Anybody have any ideas on why it won't work for me given the info in my previous remark?
HUH Nov 20, 2017 @ 2:59am
did you put it in the correct squad folder ?
steamapps > common > squad > squad > binaries > win64

it should load when you start squad and you can open up the reshade menu with Shift + F2

and make sure you chose the opengl when you add the game not the other ones.

I love how re-shading isn't considered cheating. (he said with sarcasm)

thanks Kangal. I selected the steamapps/common/squad folder instead of /squad/squad/binaries/win64. now it works. thanks for the help.
