Interpreting Resource Data From Maps
I've been looking at a couple different maps trying to understand the resource allocations in the game, specifically the quantum anomaly map:

https://www.qsna.eu/x4/map

And the Roguey X4 map:

https://roguey.co.uk/x4/universe/

These sites sometimes provide conflicting information. For instance, Hatikvahs Choice III is listed on the Quantum map as having high resource regeneration for silicon, but silicon is listed as "very low" for that same system on the Roguey map. So does that mean that system has poor resources available at any one time but regenerates them fast or is one of these more accurate then the other, and which is more indicative of good long term resource availability over the course of a game?

From what I understand, resources are distributed somewhat randomly, in one of my saves, Tharka's cascade has a good portion of every resource, in my current save though it's missing one of the gasses entirely(this could have simply changed through different game versions though, not creating multiple saves just to check).

Hrm. Relatedly, does resource probe data give you any indication of long term viability (is resource quantity related to regeneration rate) or is it purely a snapshot of what exists at the moment?

Fairly sure it's just a snapshot of what currently exists(and only within it's radius), saw the number of Nvidium drop to 0 completely while collecting it in Hatikvahs Choice III for the researches, and the miner just float around for a while looking for more, all the probes in system all read 0 when he was just floating around searching.

Gotcha. Can you assume the regeneration rate is at least somewhat proportional to initial quantity?
