Just bought the starter edition is there any reason to buy the expansions now or should i beat vanilla first?

Cause i heard you cant start those until you finish the story first so should i hold off on buying those or is there a benefit to owner them now i plan on playing all the way cause i finally wanna Commit and play it all the way through cause i love final fantasy games. what is everyone's thoughts ?

I currently only own the base game and heavensward which they gave away for free a few weeks ago. I'm not buying shadowbringers until I finish heavensward.

i think to really follow it its better to play through ARR first and then buy Shadowbringers ( which comes with all expansions)

It will sure take you a long time to complete main story, but getting to level 50 is much faster with an exp bonus. Yes, you can think of buying shadowbringers then, the only downside to that will be 24+++ gb of downloading and installing, might take some time.

Try out what ARR has to offer if you enjoy then I’d say just buy the expansion when you finish base game.

Wow im so glad i gave this game a second maybe even a third chance just played for 6 hours straight and it was awesome. i think i always stopped playing it cause there are so much turtorials in it but wow after about the 5 hour mark the game really opens up. i love how your always getting new gear cant wait till i get to level 30 to get my paladin only on level 15 but its been so much fun so far game is truly great

Be warned the game slows down a bit around MSQ 30-35 and again once you hit ARR's update content.

Honestly if you're enjoy ARR then you'll enjoy the rest, ARR is the weakest point in the over all story.

yeah 46-50 is horrible. There is only one level. The main quest suddenly skips from level 46 to 49. and then there's only like three 49 quests and then you have to grind to 50 for the final quests.
That's some strange game design there.

yeah 46-50 is horrible. There is only one level. The main quest suddenly skips from level 46 to 49. and then there's only like three 49 quests and then you have to grind to 50 for the final quests.

It can still be an issue on the 2x exp servers if you only do the MSQ and don't have an exp ear ring. You'd be 48 and and a bit once starting the 49 MSQ.

Doing any activity other than MSQ & secondary is totally redundant, a time wasted. Telling you as someone who has just done 1-72 doing MSQ & Secondary quests only, no levequests, no world events, no nothing for exp, I've been doing lvl 50 story quests on lvl 56, lvl 60 quests on lvl 68 and now doing lvl 67 quests on lvl 72. At least it has slowed down after lvl 70.

you probably have some EXP gear on. when you have normal exp gain you have to do some side activities. you will allways start overleveled with then heavensward quests, because you have to do that ♥♥♥♥ ton of seventh astral era quests, that are all level 50

There is a ring that works up to level 30 but since then i had nothing. I've stopped doing anything but msq and secondaries at level 58 when I figured out MSQ gives all the exp I need. I swear on anything I did no exp giving secondary activity but MSQ and blue quests after lvl 58. Do you consider +100% exp bonus a "normal exp gain" or not?
