Cant start/find main Heavensward Quest

Hi, after months i wanted to give FF XIV another try, this time with Heavensward.

I want to start the main Quest, but i cant find Alphinaud at Coerthas Central HighLands. Hes not there.

The last main quest ive finished is The ultimate weapon lvl 50. The only active quest i got is Flowers for one - 7th Astral Era Quests (Level 50).

Do i need to do all level 50 quests as well? Or am i missing something?

Complete all 100 7th astral era quests. This game is story based, and all story that happens during 7th astral era occurs before heavensward begins.

Heavensward Main Scenario Quests are level 50 - 60 quests released in the Heavensward expansion, patch 3.0+. To access Ishgard, the new area in Heavensward, you need to complete all of the 7th Astral Era Quests up to Before the Dawn (all of the Main Scenario Quests up to patch 2.55).

Ive nocited the quest line contains some dungeons. Do people still play the old one's or not?

if you search for them you'll find a group, though it may take a while (like 20-30mins if you're dps) but there'll be groups because of the random dungeon finder they have

For the dungeons quest, just use dungeon finder for that specific dungeon, ull get the call sooner or later, because the system make higher lv people "queue" for them too, because of the roulletes, so that exact problem you are worried about do not happen.

If you try to find people on the server to do it, itll take a lot longer.

good to know this is the first mmo where you need finish lvl 50 to access a new race >.<

I just got curious about ff14 because i wanted to look like a reptile. Now i wonder how many time i need to invest before i can start of as an au ra....

new race? there is no new race. if you want to play a new race you need to make a new char or use a fantasia.

oh but the au ra look so different compared to the cats or did i miss something? are they all the same... um race?

no. they aren't. you make your own character and pick the race
