I didn't get my max possible resolution 1920x1080 working. it gave some weird error message. I didn't put too much time into figuring it out. I did get 1400x900 to work with
a battery meter also showed up next to the map. don't remember ever seeing that before.
But when I found this post, I was able to run it from steam again using the following launch options (some may not be necessary):
fullscreen=false height=900 width=1400 nointro=true noloadintro=true nospacecheck=true
In my case, I accidentally gave height=1920 width=1080 trying to test it. It loaded fine, and it looked mostly fine--in the world, it appeared to be the right aspect ratio, but obviously I was missing like half the screen. I couldn't move the window or anything, and I couldn't figure out the fix. After I closed the game with alt-F4, I changed the parameters. When I loaded up the game, the window was off the screen, and I couldn't figure out how to get it back in the field. (I know it was off the screen because when I minimized and restored, it looked like it was off the screen entirely, but I could see it expand.)
So then I found DungeonSiege2.ini residing at c:%homepath%\Documents\My Games\Dungeon Siege 2\. It seems to have the same parameters and all. In this case, the x and y values were what threw it offworld. Changing these could have saved me the time of deleting and reinstalling the game. Furthermore, if I hadn't discovered this, the ini file would still have screwed everything up.
Finally, I recommend going with width=1910 height=1000. It does work.
Only problem I have now is that whatever size I set in width/height doesn't do anything.
Only fix I have for this is to right click the top bar on the program border (the same bar that has minimize and close icons) and select size, I then drag to desire size.
It doesn't however fix the menu size to the new window size, but the gameplay graphics does change to suit the expand program window
it does fix my issue, window size can be adjusted full just fine, right click and maximize. it takes care of my problem.
