Dungeon Siege

Dungeon Siege Editor?
Has anyone gotten the editor to work with the Steam version of DS?

Yes, if you search the forms, some one has posted info for windows xp and below.
Open note pad, for windows xp paste:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\DungeonSiege\1.0]
@=""
"EXE Path"="C:\\My Steam Install Path\\steamapps\\common\\dungeon siege 1"

For windows 7 paste:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\DungeonSiege\1.0]
"EXE Path"="C:\\My Steam Install\\steamapps\\common\\dungeon siege 1"

Be sure to change "My Steam Install" to actual install path of your steam.

Save file as "DungeonSiege.reg" or anything .reg, once saved doubble click file and say yes to install.

Install gmax so siege editor does not error, then install siege editor. Siege editor will error once when starting, just ignore.

I installed DS demo to get reg values, and just adjusted location.

Too bad it still won't work if you don't have the update

Old Post, just used this method with windows 8.1 and latest everything. Works like a charm. Building maps with camera hack.
Super Necro Post...on Windows 8.1 does that method work? Tried in on 8 on a HP Envy M5 and it kept giving me fatal errors.

The registry fix works for Windows 10 to get the toolkit installed.

But DSMod.exe from Dungeon Siege Toolkit 1.7 (Found on moddb) is erroring out with mismatched .dsres and GPCore errors. The file paths all look correct. Does anyone know where to find a version of Dungeon Siege Toolkit with DSLOAMod.exe, which mine is apparently lacking?
