Linux version possible?

I like this game, it's charming and I would totally grab it. But I would really like to run it natively on Linux. Is Linux version planned?

I believe it was made in Game Maker. From my basic understanding, Game Maker seems able to publish to Linux, so the future looks promising. Can't speak for Toby of course.

+1 for SteamOS/Linux support. or, if someone can guarentee it runs well in wine, i'd probably buy it too, but native support is obviopusly preferred.

Running in wine is weird. For some reason steam for linux forbids downloading games that don't natively run in a linux environment; there doesn't seem to be an option to download the .exe or anything like that.

yeah, you have to run the windows version of steam in wine. some games work okay that way, but most don't.

Valve doesn't want Wine to be used as an excuse for either a lazy WIne-wrapper port for Linux or an excuse for no port for Linux at all. Maybe one day in the future, when nearly every game is ported to Linux, leaving only the games abandoned by defunct developers as the only Windows-only games left, that can change. But for now, Valve has good justification for holding this rule. And it is my hope that this game, among others, gets a Linux port. +1 for Linux.

I'd really like this on Linux, and I imagine the Linux gaming community would probably really like this game, but your Homestuck fanbase has made it very apparent that they don't want you to bother with us, so it's your choice, bud.
