Report a translation problem
The game is much better experienced first hand without any prior knowledge, but yeah you could probably watch the LP's and still be fine. There's a lot of hidden things in this game that an LPer may miss.
It is a lot better to go into it the less you know about it. I'm just stating that you might still enjoy it more playing it rather than watching someone play.
Undertale was still absolutely mind-blowing for me.
Like others have said, going into the game completely blind is optimal, but it is far from spoiled if all you watched was a video that only spans the ruins/forest area. If anything, you spoiled a litmus test!
