Tripod v1.1 - Triple Triad HQ (Card Game) *UPDATE*

Hello everyone! I'm known as MCINDUS on the Qhimm.com forums, and I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm here to release the first In-Game Graphical Mod via Omzy's new tool, Tonberry v1.2[forums.qhimm.com]

My release, Tripod v1.1[forums.qhimm.com], will replace ALL of your in-game cards (including the ones in the menu!) with Higher Quality versions. I also made high quality background images for the card game itself. The text and icons have also been re-created, yet maintain the look of the original. Enjoy Triple Triad as never before! And enjoy the first glimpse into the world of Steam FF8 modding with Omzy's Tonberry.

This version is complete!
If you downloaded version 1.0, download and install the newest version of Tonberry (v1.2) and it's new hashfile before you install Tripod v1.1!

Also - In the near future, I will be releasing a version of SeeD[forums.qhimm.com] which will be an entire Menu/Title Screen/Avatar/Text upscale for FF8 on Steam.

Great. How much of the game did you change the textures for?

I'm currently at FH. It's been a long time since I played, but I was playing everyday for like week.

I changed all in-menu cards and all Triple Triad game cards. The Triple Triad backgrounds were also changed, but that's it so far. My next step is to make the Triple Triad game text/icons better. After that, I'll be releasing a different pack with an entirely upscaled menu - text, icons, in-game magazines, character and gf avatars, etc.

Do you know how to do models yet?

In addition; http://steamcommunity.com/app/39150/discussions/0/540742667482037587/ for an online PvP TTA experience with cards ranging from other games as well. Both of these in my opinion are great options for enjoying a card game that has really great potential in reality.

Not yet, but magochocobo is already working on it, I'm sure we'll have new character models soon enough. :)

Has anyone out there tried this mod yet? I'd love to hear some feedback considering I'm revamping the release to include some minor alignment fixes and I'm finishing re-creating the Triple Triad text. It would be great to know what people like/don't like so I can keep improving it!

Tripod is extremely easy to install once you have Tonberry (Omzy's Modding Tool for FF8) -- and since you're going to need Tonberry for all future FF8 mods, I suggest downloading it anyway.

Will you work on the mnumbers of the cards? they look kinda low on quality when compared to your new cards.

cant seem to get it to work!, when i extract "Tonberry_v1.1" into my game directory, i can no longer launch the game. then i have to reinstall

Try installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010. Are you getting any errors when the game tries to load? Try clicking on the .exe from the steamapps/common/Final Fantasy VIII location and see if it pops up any errors... if so, you probably need THIS[download.microsoft.com].

After some testing, I should be releasing Tripod v1.1 tonight right after I get home from work!

Alignment issues are fixed and I have added all hi-res text and icons to go with the Mod, so now the entirety of Triple Triad has been redone!

I will also be making an artistic remaster of this mod in about a month so that people can choose between a classic look (current mod) and something a bit more modern (future mod). In the meantime, I'll be working on upscaling the rest of FF8's game text and icons.

Keep a look out in the next few days for Omzy's mod, Eden -- which will replace all of the field backgrounds in game with 4x quality versions using his tool Tonberry v1.2

Also - I am working currently on a mod that will replace the title screen, all of the in-game text, avatars, icons, magazines, and more!

Great job! I've installed the new version of Tonberry, hash files and this mod but now the background, the board, elemental icons, numbers fail to get replaced, the you win and updated card pictures seem to work though, also parts of the grey menu seem to warp black for a few seconds then return to normal, dont know why, everything is up to date.
