[IMPORTANT]McAfee users READ Me!!! "ERROR CODE 2 & 5"'s
McAfee is one of the worst Anti-Virus programs out there, Even the original owner/creater said so.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKgf5PaBzyg LOL XD

Seriously: Because of how bad it is, it is really bad for false positives, such is the case for this game that results in "Error Code 2 & 5"(Which is Steam saying it can't launch the game due to files missing from being deleted by McAffee...)...

You can disable the "realtime" scanner; However Disabling it is pointless because once it is re-enabled(which is also on an Auto re-enable timer) it will auto delete the game files again...

So to fix this I and many others recommend removing McAfee.
To do so you must FULLY remove McAfee. To do that read and follow step 1 & 2 of the "uninstall" portion posted here: http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS101331

Once done, use this link to help Verify your FFVII game files: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

Then Enjoy your game.

Note: If you want/need another Anti-virus scanner then there are many other good "FREE" ones out there like these:
http://free.avg.com/ca-en/homepage
http://www.avast.com/en-ca/index

And If you can shell out the coin then I recommend you get Symantec Endpoint Protection as it's the best one out there IMO, it's the one I have, trust and use!

You dont need to remove it just turn off real time protection for 15 mins and you can play it fine. If its already removed the exe file you will need to right click select open go to navigation and select and quarantined items and resote a copy of the exe file. you will need to turn off real time protection every time you start it

Turning off Realtime Scanning works for most people. It depends on the version. As it is, I already have it documented in the FAQ.

Thank you for this

Your Welcome. I bet this'll get pinned soon. :)
Can a moderator please pin this? I'm sick of seeing topics relating to this, and this really sums up what's going on pretty well.

In which people just need to turn it off again and re-verify. It's an option for people who don't want to permanently remove McAfee as some have been very vocal about not doing so.

You have to completely remove McAfee using the steps above then Verify your game! Don't skip steps...

Would be nice if "STEAM" posted a warning prior to purchase, letting customers know that "potential anti-virus programs may prevent you from enjoying your game." I would not have wasted $12 on this game if I knew I had to jump through hoops to play it. Come on STEAM plz Fix this plz!
