Always-On DRM?
I've seen people post pics that once you install the game, you have to log in to S-E's DRM to play it. Is there an offline mode or anything, or is it as bad as it looks?

I'm curious too.
Got the one from SE when they re-released and had NO information regarding the forced login requirement.
has this been removed?
Looks like it's the exact same game as the one you got from the S-E store, just they got rid of the Digital River download limitation. A shame the store page doesn't mention that it uses S-E DRM.
So it gets rid of the SecuROM limitation that Digital River required, but leaves the login system for it for cloud saves and achievements?
No offline? No thanks.
Gets rid of Digital River because it's distributed by Steam. No word on whether it got rid of SecuROM, but it does still have the login requirement forcing you to play online.

There's still an offline mode you can play and keep saves locally.
I don't see anything about Digital River or SecuROM (though I haven't dug around), it does require logging into a Square-Enix account however, but that may be for purchase verification, for some reason.
As far as I can tell you aren't required to log in to SE's stuff. You can play offline (and it looks like cloud saves are disabled in the launcher by defualt.)
Oh boy had I know this crap was in the game I would have never bought 2 copies, Im sitting here waiting to play my single player game, while Square Enix for some reason is delaying sending me the confirmation Email for signing on to their DRM crap, why the hell do I have to wait for their crappy service to play my damn single player game ......

I couldn't find an option to skip past the log-in, the only alternatives were an SE-North America account (which I had to use) and Facebook?
Hmm.. well, it won't let me log out of the launcher for testing.. I suppose it links an SE account to Steam that way.

With that said, I was still able to play without an internet connection after that first login.

That sounds kinda lame. Could anybody post a screenshot of this DRM thing?
I did not understand, do I have to create yet another stupid online account to play this game or not?
And some more questions. Is fps still limited to 15 in battle mode? Is translation corrected or "This guy are sick" is still there?
It's pretty much this: http://thelifestream.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Launcher.png

This handles logins and settings, essentially a wrapper for the game. Thankfully, SecuROM is nowhere to be found on this.

Are you asked to login anywhere or not though?
