From reading the forums it should work. That said since it's not supported you might have a hard time getting official support if something goes wrong.

I'm downloading now and I'll tell you how it works for me.

It runs fine for me (windows 7 64 bit). The start video appeared frozen for me but clicking through worked. Starting a new game works fine. I didn't test sound (I like quiet...).

But it definitely shows that it's an old game. If you want to play in windowed mode you're gonna have a bad time (no border, can't move window from upper left corner of screen). A computer that can sensibly display fullscreen 1024x768 would be best.

Here is a list of all the .ini settings: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=13603154&postcount=9

The ini file is located at SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete\Conquests\conquests.ini

works fine on my computer, it also worked without a problem on my old laptop (both with windows 7)
ChocoFries Jun 8, 2013 @ 1:54pm
can it be moved to an older laptop by cd?

Also confirm that works fine on Win 7 64-bit.
The resolution also could be altered but this involves modifying .INI file.
For people who want to run it on FULL HD (or whatever resolution your desktop is):
- Open the game folder in the main STEAM directory;
- Search for file Conquest.ini (configuration file);
- find line "KeepRes=1". Make sure it is 1, not 0;
- If there is no such line, write it (without the "-s);

Now the game will be with the resolution of the desktop, but the in-game menus will look smaller.

I will see if it runs on windows 8 incase anyone would like to know.

I works just fine on Windows eight, but the steam overlay doesn't work along with Win 7.

I wasn't able to get it to work, any help?

Every time I launch it says 'error 80'. Any idea what I can do to fix it? Or did I waste $5?
