Save file corrupt
I got a save file corrupt after my electricity went down during save. All of offline and ONLINE information are gone.

This is not a big deal yet because it just a day worth save file. But this must be a massive thing if it happen later.

Can developer have something to prevent this to happen. At less have a backup save file before writhing new save file to prevent this issue.

It IS a big deal. I completed to 50% of story within the first hour of release and I completed a second time since my save got corrupted. I even unlocked almost all treasures!!! I know it's still early but progress should be kind of connected to the steam profile. Know I feel like the old times of forgetting your memory card at a friends house so you can only play with the basic characters

I just had a bluescreen during a match and when i came back to the game i had save file corrupt too with 16hours in the game so i'm pretty pissed and i don't know what to do i don't want to erase my data.
Thank you for the warning, I think I'm going to prepare a little script that will backup my saves every time the game starts...

um the game is steam cloud enabled.

Which is, as you can see by this thread, not helping with corrupted saves. And Steam will most likely end up overwriting your Cloud backup with corrupted files, so you're screwed.

Which is something you can easily forget about. And from my experience I know how lefty and unpredictable the Steam Cloud system is, so I'd much rather choose not to believe it. Also I had to disable Steam Cloud because every time the synchronization would be stuck and I'd have to restart Steam to launch the game.

So I crafted this little script right here, which makes backups of my save files, stores them conveniently in folders with date and time stamp, and then starts the game.

(updated a goof in the code, script now works with directories which contain spaces in them)

For anyone who doesn't trust Steam Cloud either... ;)
Just save it into a .bat file and run the game with it.

INcredible! You did more than the developers, thank you good sir.

I'm not that good with scripts. Could you explain how much of your above written i do have to put into the file to make it work? Thanks in advance!!

The entire code in the code block. If you still don't see it, the first line is ":: time and date", and the last one is "timeout 5".

Thank you for the fast answer captain. You forgot to fly away!

It's a good idea for everyone to just manually backup the save data from the save folder really.

It'd be a pain to lose the custom stuff you got.

I actually pass 100% main story + 80% treasure.

Thanks for the little script

I used this but it doesn't seem to work properly, it makes the tekken backups file and in there is a is a file with the time and date but inside that is nothing?

Have you made any changes into a script? I've had someone contact me about the script being faulty, and it turned out they edited the "xcopy" command because they thought the "/e" part defines a partition...
If not, two things to check:
  • In the second line of the script you can see "@echo off". Remove it in order to see details about the operations done by commands. Also add "pause" at the very end of the script so the window doesn't disappear. Start up the script, copy the entire content of the command prompt window after the game starts, and paste it here, so we can find out where the script fails.
  • Also, try going to the directory with your savefiles. Press Win+R, paste "%homepath%\AppData\Local\TekkenGame\Saved\SaveGames\TEKKEN7" and smack Enter. See if you got any folders & files in there.

The save files are definitely where they're supposed to be. This is what's in the prompt window
