My virus scan (Kaspersky) just deteced "Oxenfree.exe" as dangerous network-aplication and deleted it.

Why? . _ .


SOLVED: I set the whole steam library directory of Oxenfree as "trusted".

Same thing here, what the heck? This is a little worrying because Kaspersky is extremely reputable. I've never had a false positive before myself.

Hi all! Your copies of Oxenfree should be just fine. Kaspersky has been known to identify Steam games as viruses by accident. It also looks like they just pushed an update to their software recently, which could definitely cause it to suddenly think that the game is a virus when it didn't think so before.

Steam knows this a common problem, though, so they have a fix for you here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4361-MVDP-3638

It´s annoying. Even i set the Oxenfree.exe AND Steam as "trusted programm" Kaspersky constantly deletes it without hesitation....



EDIT: I set the whole oxenfree steam library directory as trusted, now it downloaded Oxenfree.exe again and it works again. Nice.
