The time has come :)
The following is a statement about general VR on linux, it is not yet running on Fantastic Contraption.
Support is up and running but you will need very specific graphics drivers / kernel versions, performance is so far sub-par (but being improved) and only works for vulkan games that have a linux version which so far is not that many.
All that said, it's working and being worked on. At least we now have a usable version of SteamVR we can test and send bug-reports on should we encounter any.
So people don't misunderstand you, Linux support for Fantastic Contraption is not available yet.
Ah yes, I honestly missed which forum this was, heh.. I will edit my original message to reflect this. Thanks for the correction.
Heard that it's not always a one-click thing to compile Unity to linux, especially when made with windows in mind so only if you think you can get it working as good as it does now ofc!
This is a problem, because it's now possible to run Windows-exclusive VR games on Linux through the Steam beta client: https://steamcommunity.com/games/221410/announcements/detail/1696055855739350561
But since you have the Linux repo enabled, my Steam client is downloading the (non-functioning) Linux repo instead of the Windows repo. So I am unable to test whether the Windows version of this game works on Linux SteamVR.
