Linux Sound Issues for the Barista Update (Workaround)
The latest Barista Update has an issue for some Linux users that does not play any sound or music from the game. Unfortunately this is an issue with the engine we're using, GM Studio 2, so we have to wait for them to issue a fix on their end before we can patch the game on our end. However, there is a workaround for this.

Go to the terminal and type the following:
sudo apt install libopenal-dev

This should install the sound libraries the game is trying to access and sound should be restored. Again, this will be addressed in a future update hopefully soon. You can always rollback to a previous build via the Beta Branch (the latest being v1.6 HFX3).

I do have sound after installing libopenal-dev, but it's choppy and glitchy as hell to the point of making the game unplayable.

Yeah I got that as well. You should probably rollback to a previous build as we wait for an update. I’m really sorry about this!

Is there an official channel for acquiring an earlier build? I was unlucky enough to purchase the game right after this update was released, even paid twice to get it from humble store (as opposed to the currently discounted Steam offer) to have access to the DRM-free version.

RMB on game in the library -> Properties -> Betas tab -> build
