How to get through temple of trials?
No, it's not something like where to go, or something noobish about the controls, but it seems very difficult to get a suave, evil smoothtalking character out of there. for one it takes FOREVER to kill the damn bugs, and the door that needs to be lockpicked never opens and my lockpicking isn't terrible. Tips please? I love LOVE the Fallout series and have gotten into all the other ones but this one because this stupid tutorial keeps turning me off.

are you sure the door you're trying to lock pick isn't the one you're supposed to blow up with the plastic explosivies from one of the boxes in the area

Yes, I'm sure it's not the bomb door.

Sometimes you have to try to lockpick a ton of times before it works, even if your lockpicking is pretty good.

My problem with the cave is more utilitarian. Am I right in assuming you really can't rest during the whole debacle? According to the manual, you need to use the Pip-Boy's rest function, which I don't have. That can't be right; it'd be too weird. You mean to tell me the reason I can't just curl up in a ball in the corner and nap for a few minutes is because I don't have an alarm clock on hand to wake me up? How did the Chosen One manage all these years to not die of sleep deprivation?

Have you tried turning it off or on again? Or maybe deleting system32 will help.

If you take one swipe at a bug and then run away they can't move fast enough to hit you. Takes a long time though.

Thats correct, you cannot rest in this part of the game. Also its easy to set up attacks and run. The ants only move so many hexes. Count em, set up within just that range to bait one. once it is in range atack with your spear. It should onlt take 2 attacks to kill one. If you miss your first attack run away from it. The key is to sneak away from torches and then uncover to pull one at a time. Also check every container, there is some healing bags in the TOT. Using these are iffy though as it reduces perception I think. Havnt played the game in years. Still have my orignial CD!
