Fallout 1,2 pip boy

So during Fallout 1, the vault dweller has lots of locations and holodisk data saved to his pip boy. But in Fallout 2 The chosen one gets the same pip boy and its blank. could it be it was wiped or transferred to a holodisk?.

The real reason ofc that's it's a different game, and you don't want data from the first game to cluttter up the pipboy.
