Is this game ok for a mature 14 year old?

I heard the story is pretty dark and that it may have some blood or gore. I consider myself mature enough to play the game, just wondering if its possible to take off the blood or gore setting. And does anyone have a idea when this might be on sale? Thanks for anyone that answers this post.

I bought this game new when I was 14 and had no issues. If they are a mature young adult like they should be then all will be fine. There is a lot of adult themes like drugs and prostitution but the game generaly tends to enforce the point that they are not good things through diolouge and addiction. Blood and gore can be turned off and is entirely disabled depending on what country you are in (I think). As far as a sale goes...Just about every time steam has a big sale (Thanksgiving, Xmas, and so on) the fallout series tends to be on there. I recommend getting them all if possible as there is a ton of replay value and story in these games. Definatly worth every penny as far as im concerned. Make sure you read up on the forums for solutions to the video issues with the game it will be an invaluable resource.

Will I have to open files and download mods to make the game work properly? Cause to be honest Im not that great at doing that.

Absolutly one of the easier things to do and is something I would be more than willing to help with (check the forums for my posts and you will see). Not all that hard to do, with this game expecialy, and once you learn how to mod a game it literally opens you up to hundreds/ thousands of options. Imagine the replay value of your games if you can mod them with new content. Making mods is difficult if you ask me. Installing them...not so much. all in all it would take about 10 minutes to increase the content by about 20-30%ish and fix all the bugs at the same time.

yea, if you are worried about gore, don't play the recent fallout games. they have perks to make it even GORIER. but yea this game was made with a setting to turn off the gore.

Heck im 11 an its o.k + you can adjust the setting in the menu(I Have it On Maximum Blood too

When I was 11, my mother bought me fallout 1 next year she bought me fallout 2, I had no problems at all.. I had it on max blood!
