Introduction

Dead Island Definitive Edition is an action rpg developed by Techland and published by Deep Silver. You play as one of four characters trying to survive and escape a zombie-infested island.

Pros

Great graphics.
Fun combat.
Good weapon variety.
Good zombie variety.
Great mutilation and gore.
Ragdoll physics are pretty good. Always fun to kick the sh*t out of zombies.
Resort area is beautiful and fun to explore. The other areas aren't as good.
4 player co-op, which is still very active if you want to play with random people.
Ryder White's Campaing has a decent story that gives a lot more context to the main story.

Cons

Quite a few bugs.
Can't disable effects like motion blur, depth of field, etc.
The story is terrible.
Clunky movement and driving.
No block or dodge button, which the combat would've benefited from.
Shooting is pretty bad and guns do almost no damage to zombies.
Hitboxes are all over the place. Sometimes it looks like you're hitting the enemies, but you're not, and other times it looks like they're not hitting you, but they are.
Weapons degrade far too quickly, even when the related skills are enabled.
Zombies that throw weapons will almost kill you even if you have full health. This is probably an insta-kill on other characters that aren't Sam B.
Thug zombies are really annoying and constantly knock you down.
Tons of fetch quests.
Some achievements are bugged and can only be done in single-player, others are tedious as hell.
Collectibles.

Conclusion

Despite its numerous problems, it's still a fun and gruesome game with a different setting than other zombie games.

I have really enjoyed this game so far, there’s a lot of main and side quest to do to keep you busy for many hours. You get to upgrade and customize your weapons you find. I got this game when it was on sale, I wouldn’t recommend spending $20 on it, but when it’s on sale I recommend that you pick it up! After 40 hours we still haven’t beaten the game just yet, just from trying to get all the side quest done
