Completed Factory blueprint gone and resources with it!
So.. i grinded out enough mats to put into the factory for a blueprint, started it to work, it finished just as I was about to use the tent to sleep through the night, so I went ahead and slept through the night first. When I opened the factory afterwards intending the spawn it, the blueprint wasn;t there, no blueprint was in the factory at all. What's worse is all my resources I used for it is gone. I tried to set it to factory again but no resources stored to make it now :(

no, let it stay, so other can search for it and learn too

no worries, I am glad it worked. There should be a marker on the Screen like

Factory finished
Build ready to spawn
Pick it up on top of F2 List

BTW, I had the same problem with my first factory build.

Blueprints and the factory are tied to the individual computer. You can't start a blueprint on one computer and then spawn it in on another computer, unless you manually copy and paste the correct files back and forth every time you change PC's.

That is not good - some ppl can cheat that way. Why all that info are not stored on the server?!

It's stored client side AND server side and they have to match, otherwise the server deletes the files on it's side and you lose the completed blueprint and all the materials to make it.

So if the client tries to alter the files (such as starting a cheap blueprint and swapping it for an expensive one) then the client files won't match the server. The server then deletes the files on next log in by that player and everything is lost.

That prevents cheating.

The downside to that is that you can't really play from multiple PC's on one server, unless you are always 100% positive you have copied the factory files from one PC to the other BEFORE you log in to the server. Once you log in and they don't match they are gone.

so why a blueprint doesn't get uploaded to the server in the moment u start it and then u can just create it from server? why the server try to match something later while the server got all informations about the BP in the moment i started it? oO

I don't know, I don't work for them or make any of the decisions. Perhaps ask them?

You directly quoted me and asked me questions so....
If you want the devs to see something then a bug report from June 2018 probably isn't the best place to do so. I'm just saying.
