Neodymium?
Am I missing something or is this just only from POIs? I've only found a few bars in different POIs around the starting planet and moon, then figured I would check the other planets in my system so I can make a CV blueprint. None to be found... I'm guessing I just have to hit all the POIs in my system or did I just get really unlucky?

it is possible to get enough in the starter area, but the way i always do this is to make a warp capable sv, that will allow you to warp to other planets nearby that should have some 'somewhere' i have yet to not find it in the starter solar system
do you know you can see asteroid resources in one map tab and planet resources in another?
there are actually 3 map screens, 2 of them will tell you where all the ores are

I've found neodymium in asteroids in a few playfields.

But yeah the bulk of what i've found was in basic alien containers.

Later Asteroids
On starter Thruster of CV wrecks

You can find it in surface rocks. Meteors replace resources from time to time also. Check near the poles, radioactive zones, ocean/lake beds. Of course you can get it sometimes at trading stations. As a last possible option you could get what you need for deconstructor and tear apart anything that has it.

Thanks. I will start salvaging thrusters and see how much I manage to get. My starting system didn't have any on the other planets (moons) but maybe in an astroid field... I warped to one and didn't see any enemies but once I got close ended up taking too much fire and had to leave before seeing any resources. Aside from the starting planet and moon, the only other places I could go is 4 others moons around two gas giants.

Put a core in the wreck and get the whole thruster = 100% ressources

Put the whole thruster then in the Factory

do you have a detector on your ship?
finding asteroids is not gonna be easy without that
ping then open the map to mark the resources and to look for possible trouble

like i said, if you look at the middle map screen you can see what asteroids are where, same with ore deposits on planets but you have to first select a planet then change the map section on the right
you can do any of that ^ without even leaving your starter planet

By Factory, do you mean Deconstructor?

F2 Factory

Make sure you add only stuff the blueprint ask for all ingredients.
if you add a Thruster with neo in a HV blueprint that need no neo the Neo is lost

Yes, I flew around with a detector on all the moons and surrounding asteroids. Only place I wasn't able to truly check was the two large asteroid fields on the other side of my system. Warped there but my little SV is in no place to be fighting stuff with.

Oh, I didn't know you could put whole items in there. I thought it as just the ingots called for from blueprints.

your still missing what i am saying about the map, there is no need to travel to each sector
you can see if there is a resource you need and where right from the map
then you only need the detector to locate that asteroid or ore node in that sector after you know for sure its there

I just checked and didn't realize I could do that for the different sectors. That helps a lot since it shows that in one of the moon sectors I have to check for an asteroid since it's showing Neodymium. Thank you.

great, now when you get there, ping and open the map, mark any resources (the ping gives them the correct icon) and stay away from any red dots :P
you may have to fly around to find them because sv detectors dont have much range

They are in the asteroid fields, sometimes also in orbit.
